We LOVE the Andaman Islands (Video)

We head to the Andaman Islands for rest and relaxation.
After the craziness of mainland India, it was wonderful to take our time and explore the islands.

  3. the ANDAMAN Islands?! I thought you had to be Indian in order to get a permit to even visit? Please enlightened me! I would love to find out how to go

  4. Whoops — seems like it is harder to get to the Nicobar islands than Andaman. Confused the two. Sorry about that 😛

No problem. The Andaman Islands are beautiful! Still haven’t found a beach more beautiful than on Neil Island.

Amazing video! thanks for putting this together (and the rest of your awesome videos)!

question: I’m assuming you flew there RT from chennai? What would you guess the daily costs are in the Andaman Islands compared to mainland India? We’re going to be in the south of India for February/March and trying to decide if we should sneak over 🙂 Thanks!

Hey Brandon, thanks! Glad you enjoy our videos. We did fly from Chennai to Port Blair (Then Port Blair to Calcutta) and then took a ferry to Havelock Island, and all of the other islands (Neil and Little Andaman) The costs on the Andamans are pretty similar to the main land. We were staying in a beach hut for $5 with a private (cold shower) bathroom. The food might be a bit more expensive, but you can always find cheap eats in India. We highly recommend visiting Neil island. We found the most beautiful beach there. Still haven’t seen a better one.

  6. The Andamans are truly India’s treasure! Loved every bit of the islands, especially Havelock! Don’t think I’ve seen a cleaner beach in my country (India) or abroad.

We stumbled across an amazing beach on Neil Island and couldn’t believe how beautiful it was.
Havelock is another incredible beach and super clean. Can’t wait to go back. 🙂
