Nepal Tattoo Convention

While enjoying lunch at a Nepalese restaurant we ran into fellow tattoo aficionado’s  who informed us that Kathmandu was holding their 2nd Annual Nepal Tattoo Convention.

So we made our way to the local tattoo shop to purchase our tickets for only $2!!

Nepal Tattoo Convention

Welcome to the 2nd annual Nepal Tattoo Convention

The convention was held at The Yak and Yeti hotel, and we were excited to discover some new artists.

There were artists from around the world and Giselle quickly decided she was itching to get a tattoo.

We had no idea how inexpensive it would be would be and we met a very good artist from France sooooooooooooo Giselle decided to get an old school rose tattooed on her hand!

We had such a great time at the Nepal Tattoo Convention and it was an awesome surprise.

    You were very lucky indeed!

  3. Tattoo convention certainly is not the first thing you think of when you hear Nepal. Sounds like a great day – you have a nice reminder on your hand.

Brave souls! I’m too much of a scaredy-cat when it comes to needles–not to mention just plain fickle–to ever consider getting a tat!

Thanks Seattle, the tattoo convention was a lot of fun. It was a surprise to us finding it in Nepal! There were a lot of great artists there, and the prices were great so I couldn’t resist!

  12. […] The Burmese people kept telling us that Myanmar is “Tattoo Crazy!!”  They have always had their place in Burmese culture and they seem to be making a comeback with the youth. We were lucky to have arrived just as a tattoo convention was starting. It was so much fun to wander around and admire all of the different art. We hope to visit other countries during tattoo conventions. The Ganesha back piece is gorgeous!

  15. […] hope to keep growing to become very old kind conscious people with tattoos and wrinkly skin later. Watch our video on the Nepal Tattoo Convention. It’s ok everyone. If we’re ok with it, you should be too. It all comes down to how […]

  16. Wow crazy 😀 I didn’t know Nepal even had those 😀 I saw the tattooed people from Myanmar post, I would so wish I was brave enough to get a tattoo while I’m travelling, but I’m always anxious what if they fuck it up or I end up with a toilet directions somewhere on my body 😀

We had no idea either, and just kinda lucked out.

Yeah we do a lot of research before we get tattooed and make sure the artist is very good.
Hahaha Hopefully you don’t end up with toilet directions…..but that might come in handy.
