De Lanna Hotel, Chiang Mai, Thailand

De Lanna Boutique Hotel in Chiang Mai is a tranquil boutique hotel tucked away on a quiet street within the old city walls. De Lanna is in walking distance to the sunday walking street market which is a must when visiting Chiang Mai.

There are several things to do in the old city including visiting one of the many beautiful Buddhist temples, sampling the great array of restaurants, taking a Thai cooking class, shopping at the many pretty boutiques in the surrounding area, and perhaps getting a massage at De Lanna after your long day of exploring, or relaxing by the pool with a fancy cocktail.

De Lanna’s lobby is small and inviting. The staff are friendly and our check in was quick and uncomplicated, just how we like it.
Our Deluxe room had a beautiful organic feel, with concrete walls, wooden floors, large front  doors with big windows that filled the room with natural light, and spinning windows with Thai stained glass separating the bedroom from the minimal (but beautiful) bathroom.
We also had a very comfortable king size bed and lounger. We didn’t want to leave our room. It was so warm and inviting. We enjoyed a few movies on the cable satellite tv, and were very happy to find very reliable wifi for the work we needed to finish, even when working on our balcony.

Ahhhhh, nothing like a hot shower, one of lifes simple pleasures. The bathroom has a natural simplicity and subtle elegance with mostly concret surfaces. You can choose from a bath or a shower.

The restaurant at De Lanna Boutique Hotel is a simple but pretty restaurant that serves a buffet breakfast included in the room rate. The buffet includes all breakfast food that one would expect, and although there was a lot of food that we couldn’t eat being vegan, the staff was very accomodating in preparing special food for us with no butter, eggs, or meat.

We also enjoyed the fruit and salad bar at the buffet. We recommend enjoying breakfast in the courtyard.

De Lanna’s swimming pool is non chlorinated which we think is fantastic. The courtyard is serene and gorgeous in the evening when it is lit up.
De Lanna Hotel

De Lanna Boutique Hotel applies green energy to produce their warm water for daily use. They use a solar collector which utilizes sun power to produce warm water. They do their best to compromise between the use of green energy and their guests satisfactions. We respect that very much.

I am glad I came across this hotel review.
My husband and I are travelling to Chiang Mai in January and I am still looking for places to stay. This looks like a great hotel. Was it in a good location? Easy to get around?

      Hi Margret,
Glad you liked the review of De Lanna Hotel. It is in a good location but not central in the old town. Which is nice because it is a lot quieter. There are always Tuk Tuks (Taxi) cruising around so it would be easy to flag one down or you could ask the hotel to arrange a taxi for you. Hope you enjoy your time in Chiang Mai.

This looks like a fantastic place that I can imagine myself and Franca really enjoying. The design is really nice, the layout fantastic and should we be in that neck of the woods again I think we might have to pop by.

Totally loved this hotel. I booked this hotel after seeing this review. Thank you so much.
I had a great stay and will recommend it to friends heading to Chiang Mai.
It was very quiet and was within walking distance to pretty much everything I wanted to see there.
