Kale Konak Cave Hotel, Uçhisar, Turkey

Kale Konak Cave Hotel is a charming cave hotel located in the town of Uçhisar, 3km away from Cappadocia. It was wonderful staying in a small town with very little hotels around in a very local area.

It felt more authentic. And not to worry, there are a handful of restaurants around if you do not want to always dine at the hotel.

The remarkable view from Kale Konak

Our surroundings were beautiful with a breathtaking view of Erciyes mountain and Uchisar castle, an old castle carved into a rocky mountain.

We had the two bedroom suite with a fireplace. Our room was built right into a cave with an underground passage way from our room to the Turkish bath. It was so warm and cozy.

Right outside of our room was a sitting room with a large table made from an antique castle door.

Breakfast was delicious and consisted of fresh bread, olives, preserves, fresh orange juice, Turkish coffee and tea, fresh fruit, and more.

Every room in Kale Konak is decorated differently with beautiful Turkish furniture and accents.

The Turkish bath is open 24 hours and free of charge. It was colder in Uçhisar so it was always nice to warm up in the Turkish bath. It was HEAVEN. We used it twice a day.

Ahhhhhhh……the relaxing Turkish bath

Abdullah the owner of Kale Konak was so kind and gracious always asking us if everything was ok and if we needed anything. Abdullah has a few dogs of his own, and he also takes in and feeds stray cats and dogs.

If you are heading to Cappadocia for a hot air balloon ride and are interested in staying in a more authentic place, away from all the tourists, Kale Konak is perfect!

This hotel is definitely something different from the usual. Sleeping in a cave? Why not, I would 🙂

Definitely one of the coolest places we have stayed during our travels. I am still shocked that you and Dale have not yet made it to Turkey.
