Lub D Bangkok, Silom

Lub D Bangkok, Silom is set in a funky industrial style building in one of Bangkok’s popular tourist locations. It is in close proximity to the Skytrain (Chong Nonsi station), Patpong Night Market, Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple, and the Silom Complex Central.

The building is simple, slick, and modern. Everything is well kept, clean, and in good working condition. We had a really nice stay at Lub D Bangkok, Silom.

The lobby has the casual feel of most well run hostels; friendly, welcoming, and energetic. All around the hostel you’ll find travelers relaxing before heading out to explore, people excited to share their travel stories online with friends and family back home, digging into breakfast after a late night out, and chatting with new people in the common area.

The space is organized, and clean, and there is ample room to hang out if you want a change of scenery from your room.

Great place to chill out

There is an internet center in the common area with computers you can use free of charge.

The staff at front desk were incredibly helpful. They let us know everything about Lub D in detail, and were clear and concise in their explanation.

We arrived early, and check in time was at 2pm, but our room was ready so they allowed us to check in, which is always greatly appreciated. When it was time for us to check out (5am), we were greeted cheerfully by the staff having an early breakfast together.

Lub D means “sleep well” in Thai, and sleep well we did. We stayed in the twin railway room, equipped with a very comfortable bunk bed, natural sunlight, a work desk, a safety deposit box, and free Wifi.

We shared a great bathroom (separate male and female) with the rest of the floor.
Lub D also offers double rooms with private bathrooms, a mixed dormitory, and a lady’s dormitory.

Our room at Lub D

The shared bathrooms are beautiful and roomy. With the same minimalistic theme as our room (greys and reds), there is more than enough room to get your shower on and get ready for a night out. They have placed a shelving unit in the bathrooms where you have a choice to “keep” your toiletries, or “give away”

There is a self serve laundry room available at an inexpensive price.

Lub D Bangkok, Silom offers free luggage storage for up to 2 months. Pretty awesome.

Lub D Bangkok, Silom has a great list of weekly activities where you can meet new people and explore awesome Bangkok.

We had a great stay at Lub D Bangkok, Silom, and recommend it to those who want an inexpensive but comfortable stay, and more out of Bangkok than just Khao San Rd, and there is definitely much more.
